Honey Dipper
What kind of man-made things comes into your mind when you think of things that function or can be used like human hands? Could it be tongs, bowls, gloves, or even rings?
...
The Subject that I came up with was a honey dipper. Honey Dipper has two main ideas that are very similar to human hands: its function and its shape. Like how a person could dip their finger into a jar of honey and have honey drip out of their finger, honey dipper replaces this action and effect. Continuously, the head of honey dipper and the tip of a human finger looks very much alike where it is round and has lines along its shape such as fingerprints in our hands. With this idea in mind, I've explored and interpreted differently and played with the traditional shape of a honey dipper. I've enlarged the size and made irregular semi-circles and placed them in a zigzag stairway. The key point to this was to show everyone's hands are different in its own unique way. Not only our hands vary in size, but they vary in shapes with keeping its original function. Overall, I've kept the function and structure similar, but changed the size and shape and had fun.
